Founder Profile
Vanessa Wang is the founder of Athena Math and a
graduate of Columbia Business School (MBA). With over
6,000 hours of in-person and online teaching experience,
she brings nine years of expertise in competition math and
K–12 math instruction for high-achieving students. Vanessa
is also a CFA charterholder.
Before founding Athena Math, Vanessa worked as a
Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT)
Investment Banker at Goldman Sachs in New York. She was
a featured speaker on the Education Panel at the 2019
Columbia China Business Forum and was invited by VipKid
to present on curriculum development at New York’s top
private schools, addressing an audience of over 10,000
parents.
An active member of the Horace Mann School Parent
Association, Vanessa is deeply engaged in one of the top
private schools in the United States, reflecting her ongoing
commitment to excellence in education.

Admissions Process
Fill out the form on the right to schedule a placement test. The test will help us determine the student’s level.
The trial class provides students with an opportunity to experience our teaching methodology and style firsthand.
Once the family decides to join, students will be placed into classes based on availability and their level.
We'll review students' performance and offer study plan advice. Top-performing students will be selected for competition teams.
